Volunteer

Interested in volunteering with Kumbatia? We'd love to have you! Volunteer trips are generally 14-20 days (including travel time) and include a 3 day 2 night safari in Tsavo national park. Our full itinerary is generally as follows: 

Day 1 & 2: travel to Nairobi, spend the night near the airport 

Day 3 & 4: stay at a beach hotel in Mombasa, experience the Indian Ocean and let the jet lag wear off

Day 5: Beach day with the kids from Tabarak Children's Home 

Day 6: Visit Mombasa spice market to shop for deras (traditional Kenyan dresses) and fruits

Days 7 - 10: volunteering at Kumbatia and New Glorious school, dinners at Tabarak 

Days 11-13: three day, two night safari in Tsavo East & Tsavo West National Parks

Days 14-16 (sometimes an additional day or 2): volunteering at Kumbatia, New Glorious, and dinners at Tabarak

Day 17: pack and travel back to Nairobi

Day 18: flights back to the US

Kumbatia volunteer trips are generally between $3,500 & $4,000 including flights (price will vary based on month of trip and price of flights. Flights are typically most expensive from the end of May to the end of September). Price is inclusive of all flights, travel from airport to hotels, hotel rooms for nights 1-3, Airbnb for the remaining nights, all transportation to and from Kumbatia & Tabarak from the Airbnb, most food, water, and a 3 day 2 night safari in Tsavo.
